Flow Coating is a great way to achieve the best gloss and depth from your paint.
The basic process is to paint your panel with base and clear then allow it to cure for at least 3 days then sand it back down and apply a further 2-3 coats of clear.
I will be using the SATAjet 5000-B RP 1.3mm Digital Spray Gun on my own VL Walkinshaw molded bonnet.
I am using Standox HS clear heated to help the drying and also thin it without too much reducer.

I’m giving it another go after 40+yrs John. Cellulose was my thing then but Gunnie has helped me no end into 2K application. Had to go out and buy quite a bit of new kit though but we can’t have a Tradesman blame his tools.
G day Mate, Im refinishing a plane. Just purchased a Devilbiss SGK-600-BV Im going to paint in 2k clear over base, as I have a few trims to clear.
Basic Scheme will be black base coat then metallic silver stripes / trims then clear over the lot!
Could I ask where you buy your base paints and clear coats. Im in Melbourne. I not you use HS Standox clear

Would you recommend a devilbiss tekna copper spray gun to shoot clear with, or should i stick to my iwata.
Absolutely awesome finish I’m in the UK and about to repaint my whole car not the door jams tho can’t wait to get it done but be spraying in a 6mtr party tent lol with sides so it will be a challenge
