Air Filtration & Respirators are a very important part of Spray Painting and before attempting any kind of paint work you must understand the health risks especially when using 2 pack paints with a highly harmful ingredient in the hardeners called isocyanates known to cause cancer, fully air fed respirators are a great way to supply yourself with breathable air and greatly reducing any exposure to the chemicals but to get the compressed air to a breathable quality it must go through a good air filtration system so I will show you the setup I have in my workshop. If you aren’t completely sure the air quality is good enough to breathe then don’t breathe it, just use a good quality cartridge filter mask with charcoal & Particle filters make sure it’s a nice fit and you will be protected enough to spray 2k paints.
Hey Gunman,
Thanks for the video.
Just a quick question, based on your experience, would this mask be ok to spray 2k in a conventional garage?
Many thanks for your time in this matter,
Steve
Hi Steve,
Yes the half mask would be totally fine, just make sure it has a particle filter and a charcoal filter, the charcoal will filter all the bad gasses so is necessary. Also worth giving eye protection a thought so some goggles could be a good investment, in my booth with the fan it’s not that big of a deal but with poor ventilation then may be worth getting.
Starting at a new high end shop was wondering what spray guns are the best bang for my dollar and will put out the best finish. I see you talk about the pro lite just want to make sure I’m buy the right set up for water and my clear coat.
